We have been approved as CNS supervisors by the governing board. However, this website and SNC's programs are not affiliated with the Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists℠ (BCNS℠) or the Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS®) credential, or the American Nutrition Association® (ANA®).

We are a separate entity that has been approved to provide support and guidance based on the regulations laid out by the above organizations. We have been practicing collaboratively for 8+ years. We are blending our knowledge in integrative & functional nutrition, coaching, community education, and research. We were once where you are now!

Dr. Linnette M. Johnson

Board-Approved CNS Supervisor

Linnette is the owner and one of the supervisors at the Sprouting Nutritionist & Coaches (SNC). She is a Doctor of Clinical Nutrition (DCN), a board-certified nutrition specialist (CNS), a national board-certified health and wellness coach (NBC-HWC), and a licensed dietitian nutritionist (LDN). Linnette has five state licenses: Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Illinois, and Florida. Linnette will eventually be working on other necessary licensures, so CNS interns from certain areas will be supported.

Linnette specializes in mental health, from addictions, depression and anxiety, and eating disorders/disordered eating, and is aligned with being weight-inclusive through Intuitive Eating and HAES. She runs a Private Practice called 5 Elements Coaching LLC and is working on starting a non-profit (pending approval) Research Development Group. She is a published clinical researcher with a contract with the State of Maryland for two mental health facilities as a clinical "dietitian."

Linnette advocates for body autonomy and being body-positive. She loves cooking and being with her family, enjoys a good book, gardening, traveling, which hasn't been as much as she would have liked (maybe one day it will be more), and being outside when the weather is nice.

Rachel Buechler

MS, CNS, LDN

Rachel is a board-certified nutrition specialist (CNS) and licensed nutritionist (LDN) and has been in practice since 2016.

Rachel specializes in various health conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and HIV. She takes a weight-inclusive, client-centered approach to health and wellbeing. She has experience in private practice settings, working within larger healthcare organizations, and has worked with private and community organizations. Rachel currently works as a clinical nutritionist and educator for various non-profits in the Baltimore, Maryland, area. She also works part-time as a clinical nutritionist at 5 Elements Coaching LLC.

Rachel is currently licensed in Maryland. She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition and Integrative Health from Maryland University of Integrative Health. She will work with the CNSs in Maryland and in "green" states. Eventually, she will expand beyond these areas in the future.

Rachel is an advocate for healthy, sustainable living for all. She enjoys helping people find the foods that help them feel their best, allowing them to focus on what they want most!
